Learn to Play/Skate Program

This Learn to Play/Skate Clinic is a BEGINNER program that is designed to introduce skating and puck handling skills to NOVICE Level players who are just starting hockey and will be delivered in a fun and encouraging training environment.

The weekly ‘Lesson Plan’ will include the following areas of development:

Learn to Skate

This program teaches the basic techniques of skating, such as, the proper stride, balance, and edge work.

When a student’s skating has reached the appropriate level, players can graduate to the Beginner Learn to Play, where we introduce stick and puck skills.

Learn to Play – Beginner

This program is for proficient skaters and is focused on the fundamental skills of hockey - skating with speed and puck control.

Players in this program have been skating for multiple years, may have played hockey for a year or two and are now able to focus on stick skills at speed.

Learn to Play – Advanced

Players in this program have multiple years of experience with hockey games and practices and are looking to improve their understanding of the game, including advanced techniques of skating, puck control, and shooting.
