Gillian is owner and head coach of Elite Technique Coaching. A former Canadian Ice Dancer, Western Canadian Ice Dance Champion and two-time Canadian National Team Member. Gillian has 25 years of coaching experience and is a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level 3 Nationally Certified Coach with Skate Canada. She is also an Ontario Hockey Federation Certified third party instructor. As a full time, professional skating coach, Gillian has worked with elite athletes both in figure skating and hockey. She is well known for her expertise in edges, power, and skating technique, exceptional attention to detail as well as her positive and encouraging coaching style for skaters at all levels. She has coached and choreographed for National and International level skaters. Gillian has taken her experience and technical skating knowledge and has applied and adapted it with the specific needs of hockey players in mind, developing skating programming for minor hockey teams/players from U7 up to Major Junior athletes. She is considered a technician of the blade. Gillian’s strengths are her attention to detail, her ability to help players understand the subtle nuances of skating technique and the “why” behind those techniques.
