Michael Farrugia – Professional Hockey Coach & Skills Instructor

Michael Farrugia is a professional hockey coach and certified skills instructor recognized for developing elite-level players and building championship-caliber teams. With a career defined by excellence, progression, and player advancement, he has established himself as a trusted leader in high-performance hockey development.

Before joining the Oshawa Generals, Michael served as head coach of the Peterborough Petes U16, where he led one of the most successful seasons in the program’s history. Under his guidance, 14 players were drafted into the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and the team finished with an impressive 69-7-7 record.

With the Oshawa Generals, Michael went on to help the team to back-to-back conference championships, adding to a resume that already includes 4 OMHA championships and an OHF championship.

Michael also spent time behind the bench with the Wellington Dukes, guiding them to the RBC Cup Final—one of the premier stages in Canadian Junior A hockey.

As a Hockey Canada–certified skills instructor, Michael currently works with many of the top minor hockey players and spends his summers training some of today’s top professional and elite-level athletes. His coaching combines technical precision, a deep understanding of the modern game, and a commitment to helping players reach their highest potential.
